Introduction
According to Rick Pitino; Excellence is the unlimited ability to improve the quality of what you have to offer.
-This indicates that it is not confined, restrictive or boxed in (Unlimited ability).
-It also indicates that it is dynamic and not static (improve quality).
-Finally it is very intentional and has everything to do with you, what you do and what you do not do (you have to offer).
Let me bring this to you as an individual and as a person because we are focusing on personal excellence.
Obviously central to Personal Excellence or Promoting in anyway is an individual... You...are core to this is Purpose
1)What is your purpose?
The journey of life is deemed by many to begin at birth, it however never really starts until we discover purpose and begin to live a life of purpose. It is in living a life that is focused on the purpose for our lives that we begin to blossom and move towards excellence.
Why are you here on earth, why did God create you a woman/man, why did God create you a Nigerian, living in Nigeria in such a time as this…What are you on earth for?...These are defining questions
There is no promotion of any form of excellence without Purpose for starters...
The question most young people have in their minds is usually How?

How do I discover my purpose?
1). Purpose starts in God and is for God, your talent and potentials on this earth are first to advance the kingdom of God. Your life mission is in two parts (shared and specific).
Your Specific Purpose is specific to you
2. Everyone’s life is driven (guided, controlled or directed) by something, circumstances, emotions, values etc pay attention to these
3. Pay attention to things you do easily
4. Pay attention to things that easily concern you
5. Pay attention to passions that tend to compel you to make a difference

1)What am I truly passionate about?
2)What activities, when I am involved with them, cause me to lose all track of time?
3)What tasks come effortlessly to me?
Write these things down and analyse by prioritizing them
Purpose brings Clarity..Clarity Promotes ..Self awareness
How do you see yourself?
How do you see yourself …what is your level of self-awareness…most times we see our self through the reflections of different circumstance we call Mirrors
Also referred to as Determinism
The Social Mirror are visions we have of ourselves comes from the social mirror -- from the current social paradigm and from the opinions, perceptions, and paradigms of the people around us.
Genetic determinism
Basically says your parents did it to you. That's why you have such a temper. Your parents had short tempers and it's in your DNA.
Psychic determinism basically refers to the mind, your childhood experience essentially laid out your personal tendencies and your character structure.
Environmental determinism basically says your environment is doing to you -- or the people in it - your teacher, your friends, your tradition, or your economic situation, or country, national policies.
God Determinism: What God's word says about you.

The perception you have of yourself is what you tend to project to the world ...If you see mediocrity..you Promote Mediocrity..Excellently... How Do you see yourself?
A few principles will guide you in promoting personal excellence
a. Do not despise little beginnings
Do little things today-what will make a mighty ocean tomorrow is what little drops come are released from today.
Being faithful in the little assures a flow towards the big, bigger and biggest. If you are not faithful in that volunteer job with no/small pay, you will be very unlikely to be faithful when you are CEO.

In today's time it is easier to look at people successes without hearing their stories.
Everyone has a journey, just like with every child, life is in milestones..some of us want to wake up from sleep and BLOW. Don't get me wrong, blowing is all good...but SUSTAINED BLOWING IS BETTER

All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you- WAYNE DYER
